Brilliant job, mission complete. The game was a complete master-class performance.
Amazing emotions shown by the Big Three.
Slater hopefully comes back to win it all again.

Great to see the sea of purple. I feel for Cheyse Blair and Christian Welch for missing the Grand Final but great contribution to this years season.

Hey guys

Well last weekend was interesting to say the least
Made it to Sydney got sick on Saturday watched the game happy we won flew back to Melbs on Monday arvo and ended up sick in bed with influenza a throat and both ear infections

BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT TO SEE STORM WIN

Come world cup we will, in all likelihood, see an all storm spine in green and gold.

My knowledge of rugby league is pretty damn good but if it was to be Slater, Munster, Cronk and Smith in the World Cup we will see the first Kangaroos spine from one club since Mullins, Daley, Stuart and S. Walters in 1994. I may be wrong but I doub it

If that doesn't put Storm up there with the great clubs on the 90s then nothing does.

I wish they could do another celebration in the weekend for people who can't afford to have the day off

How much did J Brom have on himself for first try scorer?
Enjoyed the game from the 'comfort'? of an Aussie pub in Bangkok with wife and 5 year old son and where everybody seemed to be shouting for the Cows.
Woohoo, haven't stopped smiling.

Cameron Smith's goal kicking late in the season and finals was quite brilliant. Well done Cam

I just watched the second half of Grand Final with Channel Nine commentators for the first time. Ray Warren said something along the lines of the Storm have not lost in Sydney this year. The last time they played in Sydney was v Sharks in June. Their travel schedule has been kind to the Storm since then.

Seriously Ray since we have been to Sydney we have travelled to Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Townsville and Newcastle.

Go easy of Ray. Senility has well and truly set in. Poor bloke probably got lost wondering the stadium looking for someone that died 15 years ago.

He totally ruined the Kaufusi try by having no clue how to pronounce his name. Was the same with a few others. *lima lima lima duck* he’s terrible.

I liked the story about Kaufusi being unable to hack the training when he started at the Storm. A 20 minute player. Now he's played 80 almost every game this season, would be on the shortlist for most improved in the comp, and will probably play Origin next year. I think that sums up Melbourne.

There's a fair amount of Sydney resentment in the reporting of Storm's victory. You can tell by the language. When you don't like a team but have to write about their success, you describe it as "ruthless", "brutally", "efficient", and call them "a machine".

It's language desgined to lessen their victory by dehumanising them. "It's not so bad we lost, we're just good sportsman but we were fighting against robots"

Take this paragraph from another Guardian article posted after the final: "It was one challenge, one game too far for the plucky Cowboys who couldn’t cope with the ruthless efficiency and clinical composure of the magnificent Melbourne machine."

‘Clinical’ is not a compliment. It’s a resentful dig at Storm. Gould et al use it all the time. They hate Storm’s success. Fact is, Storm have played a very exciting brand of football this year. No team scored more points. They off-load a lot! They shift the ball in and out. It’s rugby league at its best.

You'll drive yourself silly worrying about the opinions of Sydney people.

The cleverness of our liberal thought police is that they do not need to rely on imprisonment. They work by creating a howling twitter mob, and threatening reputation and livelihood. It’s a very creepy feature of our times.

They are all after us because we became bigger than they ever wanted us too. The Melbourne Storm was meant to be a boutique team that lost and facilitated the idea that Sydney is better than Melbourne.

Instead we beat them at their own game and as a consequence we make it our game and have the whole of Melbourne behind us in a way AFL never can because of the suburban rivalry and team support.
You can be an Essendon supporter and a Storm Supporter.
You can be a Collingwood supporter and a Storm supporter.
Melbournians can all come together behind the Storm....

and unite.

They still call us a "fake" club. They know nothing of our culture and how we unite the whole of good old Melbourne town.

and we will continue to piss off the Northern nuffers as well with our success. It's hilarious. As per anything from Phil Gould during the finals series. As per the below article.

https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/sport/ ... yp1vw.html

Don't Hesitate to suggest it's the Storm that makes the Queensland Origin team so good, not the other way around.
Do Declare Melbourne the 'Sporting Capital of The World' when the Storm win the grand final.

Too Funny.
