Re: PRELIMINARY FINAL - Storm vs Sharks

Having just written the above, I have now read the match report on NRL.com, where Luke Lewis is quoted as saying there is nothing in the Slater tackle , and that if he is rubbed out then Lewis does not know what the game is coming to.

Re: PRELIMINARY FINAL - Storm vs Sharks

Terrific performance especially in the 1st half. Billy was immense and I it was certainly not one of the typical “shoulder charges” and if there is no penalty nobody talks about it. Fair play to Shane Flanagan in his honest assessment of it. Hope is arm coming around gets him off. Lots of other exc...

Re: PRELIMINARY FINAL - Storm vs Sharks

Wonderful win. Super stuff. The key seemed to be the way they shut down the Sharks offloads in the first half. As Blazza said, not as good in the second half- Fifita et al kept offloading , BUT save for the Lewis try we held firm. Munster enormous. Billy wonderful. ( I think there was enough of a pu...

Re: PRELIMINARY FINAL - Storm vs Sharks

We have our best 17. They have 3 top liners missing. All good there.

Who are the refs ?

I agree 100%. We need back rowers next year. He is the sort of guy Craig likes - very hard worker.

Had a shocking injury in the GF, but came back in the second half of this season and I reckon would be hungry to do well.

Re: Queensland Cup 2018

Watchong today, Vete should be in fg In his first game for the Storm, Albert looked really good. He was then ( surprisingly to me ) dropped, and others favoured. Today he was man of the match. Surely he has gone past Sam. There probably still will not be a spot for him next week, with NAS back, but...

Re: Queensland Cup 2018

Re: Storm vs Sharks/Panthers line up

Ah ,Sharks. So we meet again. 2016 GF still hurts so much. This is a real chance for some redemption. How bad are the injuries to Gallen and Lewis ? Knowing those tough old buggers , they will both get up. Probably Dugan returns too. However the return of NAS will be very significant. We have to bea...

Re: Hughes or Jacks or Croft at half back

Hughes at 1, Croft at 7, Munny at 6 and Drinkwater will eventually partner Scott in the centres post Will I really like that idea of Scott Drinkwater in the centres. Fabulous year at QRL level, excellent debut which I think was not a flash-in-the-pan. Work on him in the Centres over summer, and blo...

Re: 2018 Junior Development

Lost 32-22, so their season is over. However 2 of their best, in Tino F and Kelma T, played Q Cup instead yesterday. When you add the fact that Ryan Papenhuyzen, also under 20, played well in QCup all season, the future looks good.

Re: QUALIFYING FINAL - Storm vs Rabbitohs

Mitchell getting a slap on the wrist should surprise nobody Of course, but at least they won't have him for the prelim. With Souths likely to easily beat a battered Dragons team next week, and Roosters missing Napa, Mitchell and Taukeiaho, GI and his boys might be a fair chance of getting through to...

Re: Queensland Cup 2018

Easts win again today , 50-20. Marion Seve scored 3 tries. Scott Drinkwater scored one.

Gets harder with the prelim next week against one of the top 2 teams , but they have done so well this season.

Re: QUALIFYING FINAL - Storm vs Rabbitohs

Such a critical game, obviously. Your entire season virtually comes down to this. You work hard all year to put yourself in a position to win a top 2 spot. You don't want to squander that opportinity. Win, get a week off and then enjoy a Home Prelim. Saloon passage to the GF. Lose, you have to play...

Sallymay - the scary thing is that they will be even stronger next year. They seem to be able to sign everyone.
