Re: Round 23 - Storm vs Eels

Storm don't lose three in a row. Won't happen. Will put my mother-in-law's house on it.

Re: Round 22 - Storm vs Sharks

The players who I felt had the most 'hunger' in that game were the usual culprits: JAC, Munster and Finucane. They seemed to play with intensity through most of the game. The only other player on our roster who plays with effort week-in-week-out is B Smith. Hughes also tries hard but is playing in a...

Wonder how much of that is saying what he thinks people want to hear him to say.

That was the least 'neutral' game I've ever been to!

Re: Official Injury Updates Thread

This must mean we're at 'extra-strength' now since we were 'full strength' last week with a couple of the lads injured!

I think they make this case and then leave it to him to choose. Ultimately it needs to be his choice if it's going to have longer term benefits.

Re: Billy set to announce retirement

I can't be sad because he's going out on top. What an absolute champion of our game and would surely be in the conversations for immortal status in a few years since he's changed the way the fullback position is played. To many Melbourne people unfamiliar with rugby league Billy Slater IS the Melbou...

Re: Round 22 - Storm vs Sharks

I hope the boys watch replays of the game at Shark Park earlier this year because that was an absolute vomit fest. The worst game of rugby league I've ever seen. They should be looking to make amends for themselves and for their fans who turned up to support them that night.

Re: Munster being chased by Roosters

What the Roosters can offer is media and third parties and the type of limelight he probably wants. I don't think he's the sort of player who would want or benefit from the 'limelight'. Given his history with alcohol and struggling to be away from his family, I don't think he'd want the distraction...

Re: Round 21 - Rabbitohs vs Storm

In more positive news I was happy with how Munster and Hughes played behind a defeated pack. They didn't have much space to work with and without delivering anything overly spectacular I thought they did a decent job getting kicks out of our end.

Re: Round 21 - Rabbitohs vs Storm

Centres are far more important decision-makers in defence (the wingers just follow) so I'm really surprised that Bellyache put our most experienced centre out to the wing and left a reserve-grader to pick up the slack. In retrospect it's hard to see it going any way other than how it played out. I t...

Re: Round 21 - Rabbitohs vs Storm

I'm a huge Stimson fan but I would rather see Brandon on the bench as I feel he has better utility value and has shown better form in recent outings. I can't think of another reason to play him in reggies apart from what Lucas said about giving him some significant game time perhaps to ease back wit...
