Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

I would keep Hughes in the side over Austin. Watching them both this year Hughes has been effective at injecting himself into the game while both Austin and Sezer have had troubles putting their stamp on the game. After so many years of first grade that's something they should be able to do by now: ...

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

Having two running halves who can't manage a team is not a recipe for success. Look at brisbane's struggles this year with the Milford / Nikorima experience.

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

I feel that Croft will really come into his own in a couple of years time with lots of footy under his belt and especially once Smithy moves on and he's given the reigns to run the team his way. With the exception of Nathan Cleary, no young half has managed to consistently establish themselves in fi...

Re: Round 14 - Storm vs Broncos

Maybe Cheese isn't doing too well in cup and we're waiting for him to get some confidence and form back? I can't think of any other reasons why you'd pick Young given he's obviously got one foot out the door already.

Re: Official Injury Updates Thread

Yes, with Young going, he has a good chance of a game if something happens. In many ways it would be nice to see, but I hope it doesn't come to that. There is a bit of talent ahead of him and the only way he should jump them is if he strikes career best form which after such a long time away from t...

Re: Official Injury Updates Thread

Hope he goes well. He's been through a lot and from all accounts has worked very hard to get to where he's at.

Re: Round 14 - Storm vs Broncos

I'm a fan of Chambers but don't like his recent turn to one of the biggest grubs in the game. As I see it, some of his biggest strengths tend to feed some of his flaws: he's super competitive - which sometimes leads to the worst cases of grubbery he sees himself as a leader - which leads him to gett...

Re: Round 14 - Storm vs Broncos

Not trying to down-play the issue at all, but the QLD boys were facing some of the best tackle breakers in the league: Tedesco 57 (3rd in league) Trbojevic 49 (6th) Addo-Carr 48 (7th) Mitchell 48 (7th) Cook 41 (13th) Roberts 41 (13th) Peachey 41 (13th) NSW played very expansive football which meant ...

Re: ‘The Foxx’ in purple

After origin last night Noddy interviewed JAC and it was really great to see how happy he was. He tried his guts out and it was good for him to experience the win. One thing I picked up about what he said was that he was really happy to be able to play origin in his "home town". Nice to he...

Time for Croft to return. Jacks was doing an OK job but had some bad moments against the Cows.

Re: Tonumaipea

I’ve said it before, we’ve got better options then Blair. Chambers and Scott are our first choice obviously, then it’s Young (while he’s still with us), then it’s Olam. Blair has been passed by and honestly I think he would be better off looking elsewhere I don't necessarily disagree with this but ...
