Re: Grand Final Week

I'm tipping Suli first try scorer and JAC to get one too.
What worries me is Cowboys attack is all down their right which will put our young centre/wing combo under alot of pressure.
On the flipside Antonio Winterstein isn't 100% so I'm expecting a right side sweep early in the game.

Re: Team of Best Players NOT to Have Played a Storm Grand Final

I'd probably throw Glen Turner in there somewhere.
Shane Walker had a bigger impact than Ryles in his time at the club and Willie Leyshon is another underrated player.

Re: 2017 Grand Final: Storm Vs Cowboys

Since Slade was barely used I think someone like Nate Myles would have been a better option throughout the finals.
Hughes also offers what Hampton did in last years decider but tbh I think against Taumalolo late in the game I prefer Griffin defending him.

Re: 2017 Grand Final: Storm Vs Cowboys

Really can't see how we can beat the Cowboys next week who are hands down the form team of the competition. Plus it's almost a home game for them considering they have played at the stadium over the past 3 weeks beating 5th, 4th and 2nd and coming from behind in all three games They've played all i...

Re: 2017 Grand Final: Storm Vs Cowboys

The Cowboys are riding a huge wave of momentum. It's big enough to beat us so we have to be at our very best for the 80 minutes or put a big score up because as long as they're in the game they have so much belief that they'll keep coming.

Re: Prelim Final: Storm v Broncos

Chambers was up there too. Yep Chambers gave Moga nothing to work with. A bit was mentioned about the McLean run that lead to a try but nothing about the pass from Smith which pretty much directed the run of Jordan. He had to accelerate onto the ball which sped up the tempo. Great work from the ski...

Re: Prelim Final: Storm v Broncos

Hopefully that second half carries into next weekend. Great to see NAS in a big game. I thought Jesse, Jordy and Tohu lead from the front and Kaufusi was our gamebreaker tonight. Not a fan of the Chambers kick and I thought Billy could've pulled the trigger on the cutput to Suli but kept going to a ...

Re: Storm v ??? Prelim final. Friday 22nd September

Watching last nights game, even though most thought it was high intensity, I saw two tired teams from kickoff.
Brisbane will be better in attack with Boyd back but if we just keep running our big boys straight down the middle we should be too strong for them.

Re: Korobiete to the Dragons

Why would he want to leave rugby? He'll be earning way more there then what he could in the NRL. Saw him playing in the NRC on Fox and it's a big step down for a player of his calibre. Big money or not playing basically park footy can't do much for his ambitions. I was hoping the Eels replaced Radr...

Re: Korobiete to the Dragons

Sad really but our current wingers are as good as we've had. Hope that team can give him opportunities or he'll be a has-been in no time.

Re: Qualifying Final: Storm vs Eels

Surprising it was Filise's first finals game. He has come leaps and bounds and will surely be a contender for second rower of the year.

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

I dont mind him staying but wouldn't it be a better playing opportunity at Newcastle?
If B.Smith is left in reserve grade next year I'm not confident we'll keep him.

Watching the Foxsports replay and wow I thought channel 9 commentary was bad! Anasta and Roach so biased.

Re: Qualifying Final: Storm vs Eels

I think we were in equal parts lucky to win and a deserved winner. We had at least 4 very clear or very near try scoring opportunities that were missed out on and I think we also got the rub of the green for a couple. Probably a kick up the backside that (might've?) been needed. I think Munster's p...

Re: Qualifying Final: Storm vs Eels

Had we lost that game the lesson would've been the same so good to learn it in a win
