Re: Round 23 - Storm vs Eels

A part of me gets desperate and wants to believe some elaborate conspiracy... like Bellamy intentionally took steps to ensure we weren’t at our absolute best. To put some fire in the bellies, etc. But it is just a fantasy. We have seen this kind of Storm before, particularly large patches between 20...

Re: Round 22 - Storm vs Sharks

I know it shouldn't surprise, but some of the commentary about Cam Smith's tackle on Feki has been humerous. Someone fends you in the chest whilst you are trying to tackle them, you're going to grab what you can and try and bring them to ground. If it wasn't Smith/a Storm player, it doesn't even get...

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

I was.

It is worth noting the difference between Barba and Jesse though. Barba’s off-field issues were more widespread than two separate suspensions for cocaine use.

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

Agreed. Our great club would never employ someone who would get on the devil's dandruff :P

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

Very good player but;

1. Not sure his background would get him past the NDP.
2. Fullback is the one position we are well covered for.
3. I think the cash would be better used elsewhere.

Re: Round 22 - Storm vs Sharks

I don't care who they throw in the halves, if our forwards are playing with a lack of effort & intensity, and aren't laying down a decent platform for everyone else, they will all fail. None of Croft, Jacks, Hughes, or even Cronk for that matter, would be able to create much behind our current ...

Re: Round 23 - Storm vs Eels

Eels form line heading into this game - 3 Wins/2 Losses (54+ Points Differential). Sitting bottom of the ladder but have hit some decent form. (Round / Result / Opponent / Margin) R22 - Win (Home) - Dragons - 36 Points R21 - Win (Home) - Titans - 16 Points R20 - Loss (Away) - Rabbitohs - 6 Points R1...

Re: Round 22 - Storm vs Sharks

14. Brandon Smith 15. Sam Kasiano 16. Tim Glasby 17. Albert Vete Three of those players bring impact, one plays a tough straight up and down game. Won't happen though. Brandon should come straight in at 14, particularly with a bench spot open. Kenny usually provides stability in defence up the middl...

Re: Round 22 - Storm vs Sharks

In the post match presser, Craig questioned the effort and hunger of the players. Fair enough too. Reading into some of his comments, he didn’t sound happy with the halves at all. Openly questioned why we were getting tackled on the last when we have players whose job it is to ensure we don’t. Also ...

Re: Official Injury Updates Thread

As much as I have wanted Stimson in the team over Hoffy, he doesn’t deserve to go out like that... Hopefully it’s not as bad as it looked but it really didn’t look good at all and I doubt he plays again. Poor bloke...

Thank you for your years of wonderful service, champion.

Round 23 - Storm vs Eels

Season in the balance. Playing a team in contention for the spoon, albeit after their best win of the season. Our forwards well beaten in consecutive weeks.

What do we expect?

Re: Round 22 - Storm vs Sharks

Kasiano was making more metres per carry than any other forward. Also the most post contact metres and probably the quickest play the balls. Three of the most important parts of a forward’s game. Kasiano let himself (and the team) down with silly errors, pushed passes, penalties and suspension. His ...

Re: Round 22 - Storm vs Sharks

How did Kasiano go in Q Cup? I think he will be quickly back into the 17 and told to play a simple game. Run hard, no offloads, no PTB errors, no silly penalties.
